Hello fabulous first graders and families! I’m eager to start the school year with you! In the classroom, my students know me as Mrs. Salcedo. This will be mark my tenth year teaching and I have loved every minute. I will be guiding you along this wonderful journey of growth, learning, and leadership. Before teaching at ATLAS, I taught first grade in Los Angeles and Kindergarten in Arlington, Virginia. One thing is for certain, the best part of being in the classroom is seeing a student feel proud of themselves. Whether it is decoding a word, getting the courage to share in front of the class or making it across all the monkey bars, nothing beats the smile that comes with the moment of accomplishment.
When I’m not in the classroom, I am best known as Mommy or Leah. I love spending time with my family and friends. My husband and I have a beautiful son that will soon be two, three dogs (aka our fur babies) and chickens. We enjoy visiting the beach, being outdoors, trying a new restaurant and cooking together at home.
I am very excited to be your little leader’s teacher. Together we will work as a team to make this year an amazing one where we all teach, learn and grow together. I believe open communication is the key to success and my door is always open. Please feel free to drop by or email me anytime.
